ChatGPT for business, used by the whole team.
Sentry AI is an Auckland-based firm that moves teams across New Zealand and Australia onto AI and measures the result against their own week-one baseline. On ChatGPT, that means ChatGPT Business or Enterprise set up on your own account, skills for every role, connectors to your systems, data handled on purpose, and the jobs that matter timed before and after.
OpenAI's figures, from its pricing and enterprise privacy pages, checked 18 October 2026.
Seats are easy to buy. Use is the hard part.
Most businesses that buy ChatGPT seats find out, months later, that a few people use it well and everybody else opened it twice. Nothing is wrong with the seats. Nothing was built for the work, so everyone starts from a blank box and goes back to doing the job the old way.
A rollout that holds needs three things the licence does not include: the knowledge of how your business does each job, written down where ChatGPT can use it; access to the systems where the work actually lives; and a measure of whether the jobs got faster, taken against how long they took before. That is what we install.
What a ChatGPT rollout includes
Five parts, and the last one is set first: the week-one timings tell us which skills to write. Still choosing a plan? Our ChatGPT Business vs Enterprise comparison sets out the prices and controls of each.
The workspace, on your account
ChatGPT Business or Enterprise set up in your name, with your billing and your data. Single sign-on, domain verification, admin roles and spend controls configured for how your business is organised.
Skills for every role
Skills written for the real jobs in your business, shared with the workspace as plugins so nobody starts from a blank box. Where a team already relies on custom GPTs, we fold the good ones in.
Connected to your systems
ChatGPT reads Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack and GitHub through OpenAI's connectors. Other systems are scoped one at a time, before anything is promised.
Data handled on purpose
Retention set by an admin, not left at the default, members' access matched to their role, and on Enterprise, data kept in Australia where it has to be.
Use you can measure
The jobs ChatGPT should speed up, timed by hand in week one, with a goal set against that baseline and timed again once the skills are live. OpenAI's analytics show who is active; the timings show whether it worked.
Admin controls and your data
On both business plans, OpenAI says it does not train on your business data by default, and it offers a Data Processing Addendum. Business already includes SAML single sign-on, domain verification, admin roles, an analytics dashboard and spend controls. Workspace admins set how long conversations are kept, and deleted ones leave OpenAI's systems within 30 days.
Enterprise is where SCIM provisioning, role-based access, the Compliance API, key management, IP allowlisting, custom retention and data residency come in. For a New Zealand business, the nearest residency region is Australia. Each of those, with what it costs, is on the Business vs Enterprise page, checked against OpenAI's own pages on 18 October 2026.
ChatGPT or Claude?
We deploy both, so we have no reason to push either. On the basics the business plans are close. These are the cases that usually tip it. The full side-by-side, with each vendor's prices and controls, is in our Claude vs ChatGPT comparison.
ChatGPT is usually the better fit when
- Your team already uses ChatGPT on personal accounts and the job is to bring that work inside a governed workspace.
- You need a self-serve plan for up to 200 people. Claude Team stops at 150.
- Data has to stay in Australia and you would rather buy that from the vendor on Enterprise than route it through a cloud provider.
Claude is usually the better fit when
- You want to start from rollouts already published: our written-up deployments for MacroActive, Nature Baby and Caregroup are all Claude.
- You want Claude kept onshore on infrastructure you control, which we do through Amazon Bedrock in an Australian region.
- You are also weighing Microsoft Copilot, which now offers Claude inside it.
After the rollout
Once ChatGPT is in daily use, the work is keeping the skills current as the jobs change, and giving leadership a clear view of what AI does in the business through AI governance. Where ChatGPT is not the right tool, we say so and scope AI consulting services around what is. For more guides on choosing and running AI, see Learn.

Rolled out. Now, can you evidence how it is governed?
Rolling ChatGPT out is the start. A client, a regulator or an ISO/IEC 42001 auditor will want the inventory, the owners, the approvals and the evidence behind it. Twenty questions mapped to the clauses tell you which of those you already have. Five minutes, no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
What does a ChatGPT rollout actually involve?
Buying ChatGPT seats takes an afternoon. Getting a business to use them on real work is the job. We set up the workspace on your own account, write skills for each role and share them with the workspace, connect ChatGPT to the systems the business already runs, and time the jobs it is meant to speed up against your own week-one baseline. Then we keep improving the skills from what the usage shows.
Should we be on ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise?
It depends on how many people you have and which controls your security team will ask for. Business is for teams of 2 to 200 and already includes SAML single sign-on and an analytics dashboard; Enterprise adds SCIM, role-based access, the Compliance API, key management, custom retention and data residency. Our Business vs Enterprise page lists the prices and controls of each, checked on OpenAI's own pages on 18 October 2026.
Are you an official OpenAI partner?
Sentry AI is an independent firm and is not owned by or affiliated with OpenAI. Your ChatGPT workspace, its billing and its data stay in your name. What we bring is the work around ChatGPT: the skills, the connections and the measurement that shows whether it is working.
Should we choose ChatGPT or Claude?
Both business plans cover the same ground on the basics: single sign-on, admin controls, connectors, skills and no training on your data by default. The difference is in the details, such as how many people the self-serve plan takes, where data can be kept and which admin controls sit on which plan. Our Claude vs ChatGPT comparison sets them side by side and names the case where each one wins. We deploy both, and we will tell you if the one you are leaning towards is the wrong fit.
Can ChatGPT keep our data in Australia?
On ChatGPT Enterprise, yes. OpenAI lists data residency in ten regions, Australia among them, as an Enterprise feature; Business does not include it, and there is no New Zealand region. Checked on 18 October 2026.
Does ChatGPT work with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and our other systems?
OpenAI lists connectors to Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub and Microsoft 365 on Business, plus Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets extensions. Enterprise adds a connector registry and workspace connections for admins. Where a system you rely on has no connector, it can be connected another way, and we scope that before we promise it.
How do you measure whether ChatGPT is being used?
Two ways. OpenAI lists basic user analytics and an analytics dashboard on both plans, and Enterprise adds the Compliance API Logs Platform for deeper data. Neither tells you whether a job got faster, so we time the jobs that matter by hand in week one, set a goal against that baseline and time them again once the skills are in place.
Does OpenAI train on our ChatGPT data?
Not by default on Business or Enterprise. OpenAI's enterprise privacy page says it does not train on business data from those plans unless you explicitly opt in, and it offers a Data Processing Addendum for both.
Do you work with businesses in both New Zealand and Australia?
Yes. We are based in Auckland and work with teams across New Zealand and Australia, on ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini.
