Founding Content Creator

A content creator who can hook a stranger in the first two seconds. You will own Sentry's TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn: a flexible part-time start, roughly 2 to 3 days a week alongside the founder, shipping short-form daily and built to grow into the full-time founding role.

About the role

Sentry AI is hiring a founding content creator to own our content strategy and creation: short-form, organic, founder-led content across TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn. It starts as a flexible part-time contract, roughly 2 to 3 days a week for the first three months, working side by side with the founder on concepts, filming, editing and storytelling.

Those first three months are a growth period, not a gig. What we are actually hiring for is the full-time Founding Content Creator and Content Strategist role this becomes: the contract is how we build momentum together and prove the fit, and the intention from day one is to develop the right person into that role. You would be our second hire in a small, rapidly growing NZ startup, and the socials are yours from the first week.

We are an AI agency in Eden Terrace building production AI for businesses across ANZ and APAC: agents, voice AI, AI training, and internal systems of our own that most companies have not thought of yet. Almost nobody outside our clients sees that work. Your job is to change that: roughly one piece of short-form a day, five a week, across TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn.

This is not a social media manager role, and it is not a stack of freelance deliverables either. You find the story, film it, edit it, post it, read the numbers, and post again tomorrow. We want someone ambitious who wants to grow with an early-stage AI company, and who can already see where this goes.

What you will build

  • Own Sentry's TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn end to end: the calendar, the filming, the edit, the publishing and the numbers
  • Ship roughly one piece of short-form a day, five a week: office culture, build-in-public engineering stories, the founder, yourself and the engineering team as recurring characters
  • Work closely with the founder on his content and yours: find the angle, shape the hook, shoot it and cut it together
  • Document our flagship internal projects as ongoing series: the Sentry company brain, our voice AI agents, and the sovereign NZ model we are training
  • Take a camera into Auckland: street interviews on how people actually feel about AI
  • Invent repeatable formats, kill the ones that do not work, and double down on the ones that do

The stack

What we run today. You will not know all of it on day one and nobody expects you to.

  • Capture. iPhone, wireless mics, whatever the shot needs. We buy the kit you make the case for.
  • Platforms. Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts. Short-form first, everywhere it travels.
  • AI. Claude, ElevenLabs, image and video models. We are an AI company. AI belongs in your workflow, on camera and off.

How we work

Agentic by default. Coding agents, harnesses and context files are standard issue here. The bar is not whether you use AI, it is how well you direct it and how quickly you notice when it is wrong.

What we look for

  • Ambition for the full-time role. This is built for someone who wants to grow with an early-stage AI company, not a freelancer working through a deliverables list
  • Someone who wants to grow their personal brand alongside the Sentry brand
  • An account that proves it. Your own page, a brand you ran, one video that blew up: show us content you made and what it did
  • Comfortable on camera with a personality that carries. You will be a recurring character, not just the person holding the phone
  • Hooks. You know why a viewer stays past the second second, and you can explain the choice
  • Speed. You can take a moment from this morning and have it posted by this afternoon
  • Real curiosity about AI. You do not need to write code, but you need to be able to explain what we build in plain language, and want to get better at it
  • The right to work in New Zealand, and able to give roughly 2 to 3 days a week across the Eden Terrace office and wherever the filming takes us

Nice to have

  • You have grown an account from nothing and can talk through exactly what worked
  • Editing depth: motion graphics, captions, sound design
  • Street interview or presenting experience
  • Any history in tech or AI, even if it is just obsessive interest

None of these are requirements. If you match the list above and none of this one, still apply.

What you get back

  • A flexible part-time start, roughly 2 to 3 days a week, with pay negotiated with you directly
  • A path designed in from day one: the three months are for building momentum together, with the intention of developing the right person into the full-time Founding Content Creator and Content Strategist role
  • Serious ownership: you are building the brand around one of New Zealand's most exciting AI startups, and the content strategy is yours to build, not inherit
  • An entire AI company as your set, and a founder who will get on camera whenever the idea needs him
  • Kit and tools paid for: camera gear, editing software, and the AI tooling we use every day
  • A ground-floor seat aimed at Head of Content: grow the channels, go full time, and you hire the team behind it
